In mid-August, almost 2 months after the flood, Cat Hollow Road remains closed to traffic. Tom Lawrence was able to ride over it on his bike, however, on August 15.

Not having been here at the time of the flood, he could not assess how bad the damage to Cat Hollow might have been in the beginning. What WAS clear to him, on the other hand, is that Holiday Brook Road, which has been open to traffic throughout, is today in far worse shape than Cat Hollow, which is still not open.
